Terms of Service

Usage rules, accounts, subscriptions, ads, and service changes.

Last updated: April 19, 2026

Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully before using the VerseDay mobile application (“App”).

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the App.

1. Use of the App

VerseDay provides daily Bible verses, reading streaks, search, personalization, and related features. The App is intended for personal, non-commercial use. Basic features are free and may display ads. We also offer optional Premium subscriptions that remove ads and unlock additional features.

Age Requirements

You must be at least 14 years old to create an account or use features that involve providing personal data. If you are under 14, you may only use the App under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who accepts these Terms on your behalf.

License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial purposes.

Restrictions

You agree not to:

  • Copy, modify, or distribute the App
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code
  • Use the App for any illegal purpose
  • Transmit harmful code or malware
  • Interfere with the operation of the App
  • Create multiple accounts to abuse free trials, introductory offers, or promotions

Advertising and Premium Access

The free version of the App may display ads provided by Google Ads. If you subscribe to Premium, ads are removed from the premium experience and you gain access to Premium features.

2. Accounts

Account Creation

You may use the App without creating an account (anonymous mode) or sign in with Google or Apple to sync your data across devices.

If you do not sign in, the App generates a random technical identifier to associate your progress (including streaks, votes, and history) without directly identifying you by name.

Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for activity that occurs under your account.

Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time through the App settings. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Please review our Privacy Policy for details on deletion and retention.

Deleting your account starts a workflow intended to delete or anonymize the operational data and archived content we use to run your VerseDay profile within up to 30 days and may remove local records used to connect Premium access to that account. Minimal suppression, security, compliance, billing, or dispute-resolution records may remain where necessary. If you later reinstall the App or create a new account, restoring Premium may require the same store account and the same VerseDay account or app profile used for the original purchase.

Important: Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription. You must cancel your subscription separately through Apple App Store or Google Play.

3. Subscriptions and Payments

Auto-Renewable Subscriptions

VerseDay offers Premium features through auto-renewable subscriptions. Premium subscriptions remove ads and unlock additional features. Core functionality remains available without a subscription.

  • Monthly Plan: Price shown in the App Store / Google Play for your region (VAT included where applicable)
  • Annual Plan: Price shown in the App Store / Google Play for your region (VAT included where applicable)

Prices may vary by country, currency, store taxes, and promotional offers.

Subscription Infrastructure

Subscriptions are purchased through Apple App Store or Google Play. RevenueCat is used to confirm purchases, keep Premium access updated, restore purchases, and help keep access consistent across devices. The exact price, currency, billing period, trial terms, and promotional conditions displayed by Apple App Store or Google Play at checkout will control if they differ from any general example shown inside the App.

Payment Terms

  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID (iOS) or Google Play account (Android) at confirmation of purchase
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
  • Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • Renewal pricing will be the price shown by the relevant store at the time of renewal, subject to applicable law and store rules

Free Trials and Introductory Offers

If a free trial or introductory offer is available, the exact duration, renewal date, and price after the offer will be displayed in the App and/or the relevant store before you confirm the purchase.

  • Trials or introductory offers, if offered, automatically convert to paid subscriptions unless canceled before the offer period ends
  • Any unused portion of a free trial may be forfeited when you purchase a subscription, subject to the applicable store rules
  • Free trials and promotions may be limited to one per user and may not always be available
  • Eligibility, availability, and duration may vary by region, platform, store account, and promotion

Right of Withdrawal (EU Users)

For users in the European Union: if you start a Premium subscription or free trial and request immediate access to the digital service, Premium features may begin immediately after purchase confirmation. Where the applicable store flow and the law allow it, this may mean that the 14-day right of withdrawal is lost once performance has begun.

This clause is included as proposed contractual wording for that purchase flow and does not affect statutory rights that cannot legally be waived, including protections for defective services where applicable.

Restore Purchases and Cross-Device Access

The App includes a restore purchases flow. Premium access across devices may depend on using the same store account and the same VerseDay account or app profile used for the original purchase. If your account details no longer match, you may need to sign in again or contact support so we can help restore access. If you delete your VerseDay account, local records connecting the subscription to that account may also be removed, and restoring access later may require signing back into the original account or contacting support.

Cancellation

  • You can cancel your subscription at any time
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
  • You keep access to Premium features until the end of the current paid period
  • Deleting the App or deleting your VerseDay account does not cancel the subscription in Apple App Store or Google Play
  • Unless otherwise required by law, partial subscription periods are not refunded

How to Cancel

  • iOS: Settings > your Apple ID > Subscriptions > VerseDay
  • Android: Google Play Store > Menu > Subscriptions > VerseDay

Refunds

Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google according to their own policies:

Premium Access Changes

We may remove, suspend, or adjust Premium access if Apple, Google, RevenueCat, or the relevant billing provider reports expiration, cancellation, refund, revocation, billing failure, fraud, or another event affecting whether Premium access is still valid.

4. Content

Bible Verses

The Bible verses displayed in the App come from translations that remain subject to their respective rights holders, notices, and license terms. VerseDay does not claim ownership of those texts. We plan to publish more detailed attribution information once the production catalogue of translations and the corresponding license data have been fully validated.

User Content

Any content you create in the App, such as liked verses, search history, or personalization settings, remains yours. By using the App, you grant us the right to store and process that content to provide the service.

Shared Content and Editing Tools

The App allows you to create and share verse images from your device. These images are generated locally on the device and are not uploaded to our servers by default. We do not review, moderate, or control content you choose to share.

You are solely responsible for the content you create or share and for ensuring that you have the rights to any resources you use. You must not use the App to share illegal, offensive, defamatory, sexual, violent, discriminatory, or infringing content.

Our Content

The App design, graphics, logos, software, and related materials are owned by us or licensed to us and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

5. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, share, and protect personal data, including data related to subscriptions and analytics.

6. Disclaimers

As-Is Basis

The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

No Guarantee

We do not guarantee that:

  • The App will always be available

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation.

8. Termination and Suspension

By You

You may stop using the App at any time and may delete your account through the App settings.

By Us

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App, without prior notice, if you:

  • Violate these Terms
  • Engage in fraudulent or abusive behavior
  • Compromise the security or integrity of the App
  • Use the App for illegal purposes

If we terminate access for cause, you are not entitled to a refund for unused subscription time unless required by law.

9. Changes to the App

We reserve the right to:

  • Modify or discontinue the App at any time
  • Change pricing for Premium features with reasonable advance notice where required
  • Add, remove, or modify features

We will provide reasonable notice of significant changes that materially affect your use of the App where appropriate.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we do, we will notify you by updating the Terms in the App or on our website and changing the “Last updated” date.

Your continued use of the App after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the App.

11. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain.

Informal Resolution

Before starting a formal dispute, we encourage you to contact us at [email protected] so we can try to resolve the issue informally.

For users in the European Union, disputes arising from these Terms will be submitted to the courts of your place of residence where required by applicable consumer protection law.

12. General Provisions

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.

No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any other agreement expressly incorporated by reference, form the entire agreement between you and VerseDay regarding the App.

Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms without restriction.
